Quin Hillyer - Mad Jones/Accidental Prophet trilogy

Join us for a reading and signing with columnist/author Quin Hillyer featuring his recent trilogy of satirical novels Accidental Prophet trilogy - better known as the Mad Jones books.

The novels takes place largely along the Gulf Coast, with some of the most memorable scenes being in New Orleans — including one in front of Jackson Square featuring a mime, a lady with a pet iguana with a bonnet on its head, and other exotica. Together, they are satire on modern religion, media, and politics, with turn-of-the-millennium craziness entering into play as well (it takes place from 1998-2001).
Quin Hillyer is a political columnist who has won journalism awards at the local, regional, and national levels. An inheritor of the literary tradition of his native New Orleans, Hillyer has led a fascinating professional life from sportswriter, to former managing editor of Gambit, to congressional aide and candidate, and now a Contributing Editor for National Review Online. He lives in Mobile with his wife Tresy.

"I've been enjoying Quin Hillyer's columns for years, and when I read an early draft of Mad Jones, I told him it had real potential and to keep at it. Today's culture needs satirizing, and Hillyer does it with verve."--Winston Groom, author of Forrest Gump.
